Prosperity Falls Revisited - WHY?

Hello faithful Prosperity Falls readers.  Prosperity Falls enjoyed a run on Blogger that started on June 19th 2005, and wrapped up on February 3, 2013.  Yes, what a long time.  This made for a total of over 200 chapters.  What is Prosperity Falls?  It is a crazy wild neighborhood in the Electronic Arts game The Sims 2.  It was played under the guise of the Prosperity Challenge under strict rules for this and that.  The challenge ended when the first born of the fifith generation passed to the Great Sim Beyond.  Which happened.  I played the hood a little longer to wrap up some storylines.

The Challenge started with 4 families.  The Bostics, the Stricklands, the Capeharts, and the Robbinses.  the Bostics started as 4 red haired freckle faced girls raised by a single dad, Marquis.  He never remarried.  In these four girls, one named Kirstee married Chevy Strickland, and they went on to have 10 natural kids, and adopted 3 or 4.  Because of the sheer number of children in the house, they were very poor compared to the rest of the neighborhood, but they were happy and family oriented. The rest of their children, every single one, married and began producing in the hood.

This made for the beginning of the end.  One of THOSE children also had ten children.  My advice, never let your Family Sim have the 10 children they wish for unless they are in a neighborhood all by themselves.

The Capeharts were a clan of snow leopards, removed out of their homelands because of toxins in their environment.  They were a proud and fierce race trying to pitifully make their way in the human world.  Their children were called "kittens", adorable.  They are noted in the neighborhood by their white fur with black spots.  Any Sim in this neighborhood with these marks have snow leopard somewhere in their past generation.

And last but not least is the Robbinses.  They developed into a fan favorite of the Prosperity Falls blog, and screamed the loudest to ASimWen in the storyline.  They were an alien race removed from their home planet of Anatoth (the name of which is Biblical, taken by ASimWen from the Good Book).  Their one only quest in Prosperity Falls was to spread their DNA to the human race and take over the planet someday.  Golden skin, yellow eyes and pointy ears is the hallmark of these wonderful beings.  One in particular, Xuan Robbins, stood out head above shoulders as the Chosen One in the alien clan because of special abilities he had. None of which he wanted.  At all.  The Robbinses are still around, but have no clue of the Mission.  Who knows, maybe we will see some wonderful things from them in Revisited.

With all this playing came lots of Sims being created in the neighborhood.  As TS2 was and is, this left the neighborhood vulnerable to hitches and glitches.  It became very bloated.  I put the neighborhood aside for a while.  Real life happened over a few years, video gaming was not my priority.  It is more than I care to talk about in this TS2 blog.  Things are better now and I am sliding along the slower lane of life.   But I had moved on to different TS2 neighborhoods, and eventually TS3 and even tooled around a little bit in TS4.  But my heart remained with TS2.

Now here we are, it is June of 2018. 13 years to the MONTH I wrote the first chapter in the original Prosperity Falls blog.  It was thought by some core members of the TS2 Challenges Yahoo group that we should start playing our old Prosperity neighborhoods again.  I booted up the Falls.  Did some of this, tried some of that, and in the end elected to play the old neighborhood again.  New slick gaming machine with a killer video card with endless memory and I think the old hood it will be ok.

So what will Revisited be?  Well, it will still be the Falls...but with a twist, of course.  Read on.  And, enjoy.  That is what this this is all about.
